We're very grateful to our new friends at Room One. They kindly stepped in and offered us the use of their beautiful location when our original plans fell through at the last minute.
Room one is a very interesting group and you can read more about them below
This popup was timed to coincide with the huge Clerkenwell Design Week event that will take place throughout the neighbourhood.
On this occasion we were also fortunate to have been joined by two of our Japanese designer friends:
- Keiko Uchida - Keiko offers a range of items inspired by traditional Japanese designs, including Kimono-like dressing gowns, slippers and eye masks.
- Mariko Sumioka - Mariko makes beautiful one-off jewellery pieces with a distinctly Japanese influence.
About Our Hosts - Room One
"Room One is a creative space that facilitates unique collaborations with emerging and established artists from various disciplines. Our stated aim is to develop and produce work of the highest standard from the dramatic to the visual arts.
Room One was born out of Enkephalé, a production company founded in 2010 by Mahdi Yahya. In 2014, he was joined by James Kemp and Roy Khalil to found Room One. Our Clerkenwell base offers 4000 sq ft of rehearsal, gallery and development spaces in central London.
